END OF SEASON REPORT

JUNIOR  CHAMPIONSHIPS 2004

Junior (Born1986 and later) – Hamersmith Penguin, Hailsham.                                                                              .                                 Croydon Amphibians I, Croydon Amphibians II, Watford, Maccabi

The league was played over five tournaments, but the withdrawal of Maccabi during the season and with Hammersmith Penguin being unable to raise a team for two tournaments the competition lost a little momentum. Croydon Amphibians I and Hammersmith Penguin were very closely matched at the start of the season but University and National League demands meant that Croydon’s strength in depth gave them  the title comfortably. The Croydon II side provided the nearest challenger as runners up. Hailsham were the most improved team over the year and by the last two tournaments were collecting points that earlier in the season they had lost out. Watford meet strong sides when playing against Penguin but had an impressive win against Croydon I and can build on an improving side.

UNDER 15 CHAMPIONSHIPS 2002

Under 15 (born 1990 and later) – Hailsham,  Watford,  Croydon Amphibians I,

                                                          Sutton &Cheam, Croydon Amphibians II,

The league was played over tour tournaments all well attended and with some closely matched games. Sutton & Cheam squeezed into the winners place ahead of Croydon Amphibians I who could not produce their best team at the last tournament.  Sutton & Cheam lost only one game to Croydon and Watford showed great potential especially when they got if front. Hailsham and Croydon Amphibians II both competed well in all games but found it tough but many of their players have two or three more years at this age group.

My thanks to all the team managers, referees  and other volunteers who helped through the season,..
